immune boosting turmeric latte

Golden Milk – Immune Boosting Dairy Free Turmeric Latte

As Mamas we juggle so much.

From nappy changes to playdates, bedtime stories to keeping the household running smoothly. Sometimes, amidst the whirlwind of motherhood, you might feel a little drained, a little weary.

What if I told you there’s a natural way to boost your energy, strengthen your body and lift your spirits? All while enjoying a delicious, comforting drink?

Let me introduce you to turmeric.

What is Turmeric

Turmeric is a vibrant golden spice treasured in traditional medicine for centuries. More than a pretty color, turmeric is a powerhouse of goodness. Packed with potent antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, it can help you feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

What are the benefits of Turmeric?

Turmeric can help your body fight off those pesky colds and flus, so you’re less likely to get sick and can keep up with your little ones.

It can soothe those aches and pains, whether it’s a sore back from carrying your toddler or a headache from a long day.

And it can even help your digestion work smoothly, so you feel good from the inside out.

But that’s not all. Turmeric can also help sharpen your focus and improve your memory, making those endless to-do lists feel a little less daunting. And it can even lift your spirits, helping you feel more relaxed and joyful, even when things get a little chaotic.

Think of turmeric as your secret weapon, a natural ally in your journey as a parent. It’s a gentle way to support your health and well-being, so you can feel your best and give your little ones the love and care they deserve.

Golden Milk Turmeric Latte Recipe

This warm hug-in-a-mug tea is a staple in our home during winter, even with my small daughters.

Not only is this THE most delicious hot drink you will ever encounter, it is immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory, soothes a nervous tummy, improves gum health and counteracts food allergy symptoms.

The list continues but for now just make it and share it with your loved ones.

I promise you’ll never look back!  You can substitute fresh ingredients, or edible essential oils however I like the soulful earthiness of the dried spices.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic coconut milk (or oat or almond milk)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • pinch fine black pepper
  • 1 tsp honey

Method

Add spices to milk and blend or whisk until combined.

Add honey and heat the milk gently up to 70 degrees C/160 F.

Makes 2 cups. Enjoy!

P.S. Don’t forget to add the black pepper – this increases the body’s absorption of the curcumin in the turmeric by up to 2000%.
