Are products made with natural cleaning ingredients are as good as the chemical ones?
Chemical products can do the job. But they are designed to knock over everything in their path…including us!
The safety and health of my family is the most important factor for me.
Typical chemical-laden cleaning formulas are hazardous and irritating to the skin. We’re even warned to wear plastic gloves whilst using them!
For me, it’s a no-brainer.
Over the years I’ve developed a great collection of natural cleaning ingredients. They’re found in your pantry and safe for everyone in the house.
My Favourite Natural Cleaning Ingredients
Vinegar
This household staple is amazing for cleaning windows, mopping floors and disinfecting surfaces. Mix white vinegar with citrus peels for an all-purpose spray cleaner.
Salt
Something everybody has in their home. This tasty treat is a life-saver for soaking up red wine spills on clothing, table cloths or rugs.
Baking soda
An old and faithful solution, make a cleaning paste by mixing baking soda and water together. Spread this over your oven and leave for a few hours then wipe off for an extra-shiny, chemical-free clean.
Lemon
One of my favourite natural cleaning ingredients. Lemon is amazing for its acidic properties. You can use it to clean your wooden chopping board. Simply sprinkle salt across the board and use half a lemon to rub the salt in. Scour it – remember to squeeze as you scrub.
Lavender Essential Oil
I love this one because it smells so good. Add 4-5 drops of lavender essential oil to your vinegar cleaning mixture. This boosts its natural antibacterial properties.
Use for homemade dish soap and linen spray to elevate washing dishes and laundry day.
Since switching to natural cleaning products I’ll never go back!
