We have a new mama here at at GFM HQ.
Hello, its so good to meet you. I’m Lisa. I feel so honoured to be taking over the reins at Green Foot Mama, so Olivia can spend more time on The Kindfulness Project.
I was raised near the sea by my organic veggie-growing, whole-food loving, hippy astrologer, naturopath Mum. My childhood was free-range. We lived in several hippy communes where I learned the virtues of nutrient-dense organic foods, self-sufficiency, and natural wellness. I also observed the healing power of Mother Nature.
Several decades later, having forged a career in the fast-paced world of IT, spanning London, New York and San Francisco, I was ready to settle down and raise a family.
Or at least I thought I was ready.
I had trouble getting pregnant and, when I did conceive, I suffered painful miscarriages.
It took some soul-searching to realise my mind and body were not in balance. I needed to return to the natural living principles of my youth to heal myself. I turned my back on polluted city living and the long hours and poor food habits of my stressful IT career to emigrate to coastal Australia.
Now I embrace a more natural lifestyle – nourishing my body and mind with good food, yoga and meditation, and renewing my connection with Mother Nature on a daily basis.
I’m so glad I trusted my instincts.
My gorgeous daughter was born the day before my 43rd birthday… and actually that is how I first discovered Green Foot Mama – when a friend gave me a tub of Organic Skin Balm for my little one. I quickly learned it’s reputation as “wellness in a jar” was well deserved as it made short work of clearing up my eczema.
Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me and thank you for embracing Green Foot Mama. I look forward to getting to know you.
